In 2011, a small group of West Midtown business owners came together to establish a community organization that would unify local businesses with a shared goal of collaboration and growth. With a strong belief that businesses are stronger together, they laid the foundation of what would become the West Midtown Business Alliance (WMBA).
By 2013, WMBA was officially launched to the community, bringing a more structured and formalized approach to supporting neighborhood businesses. A year later, with the support of visionary Founding Partners, the alliance gained further momentum, supported by funding and resources to establish legal and operational infrastructure.
Our mission is to promote smart, sustainable growth across West Midtown by facilitating cooperation, fostering local pride, and building relationships between business owners and the community. The Alliance is guided by five core principles:
Since its founding, WMBA has grown to include over 60 active members — a diverse collective representing nearly every type of business in Atlanta's historic West Midtown district. We host monthly meetings every 3rd Thursday to share updates, host guest speakers, and build community ties.
Becoming a member means joining a group dedicated to elevating West Midtown as a premier place to live, work, and do business. Members benefit from business advocacy, promotional opportunities, and a platform to voice their needs.
We are committed to inclusive economic development and long-term community success. Whether you are a new entrepreneur or an established company, WMBA welcomes you to be part of something impactful and collaborative.
Our strategic focus includes revitalization projects, city planning engagement, and championing local initiatives that enhance our neighborhood's business-friendly environment.
